The Vinyl Countdown with Jonathan Charles
Wednesdays 5pm (WST) 6.30pm (Central) 7pm (Eastern)
Each week, Jonathan Charles hosts a show which brings you the warm, crackly sound of vinyl - all the music is played from seven and twelve inch records. Every show has a theme and all the tracks are connected to it. He plays and discusses the music with his teenage son, Max.
Jonathan Charles spent decades on local and national BBC and Commercial radio and television. For much of his career, he was a BBC Foreign Correspondent appearing on the evening news and wherever he went, he took music with him. But his first loves were always radio and vinyl. He loves sharing that passion with the audience and the shows are carried on radio stations across Britain, globally, and now MITE Radio in Australia.
