Ken Anton has been producing and presenting music radio programmes for more than four decades. His involvement with radio started when he read in the local newspaper in Dundee, Scotland, that his local radio station was looking for new volunteers to help keep the radio broadcasts going. That was the start of a life-long passion for radio.
His personal taste in music is wide-ranging, from the classical music played by his parents, through the pop of the 70’s in his teenage years, to just about anything with a good tune for singing along to.
He presents two very different programmes on MITE Radio: ‘The Sunny Side Of The Street’, is a varied mixture of good old tunes, which will bring back happy memories of the 30's, 40's and 50's, and ‘Time After Time’ which pairs up cover versions with the original of the same song.
He’s a firm believer that listening to good music makes you feel better, and hopes you enjoy just relaxing and listening to some of the best music from the 1930s to the present day.
In his day-job, he works in the telecoms industry as an IT specialist, but loves to share his music with you, and hopes that you enjoy listening.

Pair of songs – the first half of a cover version joined to the second half of the original of the same song. Do you have a favourite song which was popular some years ago? And then suddenly you hear it once again, revived and re-recorded by another artist. Perhaps the new version is very similar to the original, or perhaps very different! In “Time After Time”, Ken Anton brings you pairs of recordings of the same song, a cover version followed by the original. Can you identify both versions? Can you spot the join between them? Sometimes it’s very subtle, sometime easy to spot when the original is a popular children’s song, the other a punk rock version. The programme is full of surprises. |
