You can access Youtube in a number of ways from your browser of choice or you can install an App on most devices. For example your TV may have a Youtube app which can be installed from an app store - be it Google (Android), Samsung, LG, Sony, etc… Like most apps, there are benefits which are often not available in the browser editions. That said, in some cases the reverse is also true.
Generally, if you can’t install an app, you can always use the browser. For TVs, you can always explore the option of casting from your phone, tablet, laptop or plugging in a HDMI cable.
