Xiaomi, the tech giant known for its smartphones and electronics and more recently electric cars… Well they are also making waves in the field of robotics. Their humanoid robot, CyberOne, unveiled in 2022 just quietly, is no longer just a concept. Xiaomi Robotics is actively integrating CyberOne into its own manufacturing process, paving the way for a future of intelligent automation.
From Prototype to Production Partner:

• Phased Implementation: Xiaomi plans to gradually introduce CyberOne into specific areas of its manufacturing, leveraging the robot's intelligence for optimised production.
• Open-Source Ambition: The company aims to build an open-source platform based on CyberOne's technology, fostering collaboration and innovation in the robotics field.
• Continuous Development: Xiaomi is committed to improving CyberOne's capabilities, aiming for a more versatile robot that can contribute to various aspects of manufacturing.

CyberOne's Skillset:

• Bipedal Prowess: This 177cm tall robot boasts advanced legs and arms, allowing for balanced bipedal movement.
• Peak Performance: CyberOne's peak torque of 300Nm ensures powerful and precise actions. To give some context, a tight jar lid might need between 10 and 20Nm for force to undo.
• Seeing and Sensing: Equipped with advanced vision capabilities, CyberOne can create 3D reconstructions of its environment and even detect human emotions.
• Human-like Movement: With 21 degrees of freedom and a 0.5ms response speed, CyberOne's movements mimic human agility.

A Stepping Stone for the Future:

• Beijing's First: This project holds the potential to become the first initiative in Beijing focused on the development, manufacturing, and practical application of humanoid robots.
• Beyond Manufacturing: Xiaomi envisions CyberOne's capabilities extending beyond their own production lines, impacting various industries like electronics, machinery, AI, and automobiles.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi Group, aptly describes CyberOne as "an exploration of possibilities." This is a significant step towards a future where intelligent robots collaborate with humans, transforming the landscape of manufacturing and beyond.
