Under-whelming Apple Intelligence

A recent survey suggests that many iPhone users aren't yet impressed by Apple Intelligence, finding it adds little value to their devices. However, this assessment precedes the release of iOS 18.2, which introduced several new AI-powered features.

The truth is, Apple's approach to AI differs significantly from competitors. While companies like Google and OpenAI focus on standalone AI products like chatbots and smart glasses, Apple integrates AI subtly into existing features.

Think about the apple approach:

• Photos: Enhanced search and a new "Clean Up" tool.
• Messages: Custom Genmoji alongside existing emojis.
• Keyboard: Improved spell check, autocorrect, and AI-powered writing assistance.
• Notifications: More concise and informative summaries.

These individual enhancements may seem minor, but collectively, they gradually reshape how we interact with our devices.

While the immediate impact might be subtle, Apple Intelligence is designed for long-term, pervasive change. As AI seamlessly integrates into core functions, we'll likely become accustomed to its benefits without even consciously noticing. A rather clever implementation… a bit like the old frog in a pot methodology. 

This "slow drip" approach ensures a smoother, more user-friendly transition to an AI-powered future. 

So, while the current impact might seem underwhelming, I guess this is kinda the plan… Apple Intelligence has the potential to win over the AI nay-sayers without even trying.
