RingConn Gen 2 Smart Ring

9/4/2025

For those of you seeking a smart ring that delivers comprehensive health tracking without the ongoing cost of a subscription, the RingConn Gen 2 is emerging as a strong contender. Some recent reviews have found the RingConn to be a compelling alternative to more expensive options like the Oura Ring 4.

One of the standout features of the RingConn Gen 2 is its impressive battery life. While many smart rings promise extended battery performance but often fall short, the RingConn Gen 2 lives up to its claim, boasting a marathon battery life of 10 to 12 days. This is a significant advantage over competitors that often require charging every five or six days.

Key Features and Benefits:
  • Subscription-Free: Unlike many competing brands that require monthly fees to access full health data, the RingConn Gen 2 offers all its features for a one-time purchase price of $300.
  • Comprehensive Health Tracking: The RingConn Gen 2 monitors a wide range of health metrics, including sleep, activity, stress, and vitals.
  • Long Battery Life: The ring's 10 to 12-day battery life is a major selling point, exceeding the performance of many competitors.
  • Extended Battery with Charging Case: The included charging case provides over 150 days of battery life, allowing for convenient charging on the go without needing a power outlet.
  • Comfortable and Durable Design: The ring is available in silver, black, and gold, and its unique square-ish build is reported to be comfortable to wear and resistant to tarnishing.
  • Wellness Balance Feature: Instead of a traditional "readiness" score, the RingConn Gen 2 offers a "Wellness Balance" feature, displaying health data in a visually appealing flower-like graph.

How It Compares:
While the RingConn Gen 2 offers a robust set of features, there are some differences compared to other smart rings. For instance, it doesn't provide a "readiness" score, which is a popular metric among serious athletes. Instead, it offers the "Wellness Balance" feature… same by different lol.

In a comparison test with the Oura Ring 4, the RingConn Gen 2 showed some discrepancies in measurements, slightly underestimating sleep time and step count. However, it's worth noting that other reports suggest Oura Rings may overestimate step counts.

The Downside:
The main drawback seems to be in the software department, but a software update or two should sort that out, after all, it’s early days and the hardware seems to be pretty rock solid.

The Verdict:
Perhaps a compelling alternative to the more expensive, subscription-based smart rings. Maybe put it on your comparison list. Its long battery life, comprehensive health tracking, and affordable price make it a strong contender for those seeking a feature-rich smart ring experience. If you prioritize battery life and want to avoid ongoing subscription fees, the RingConn Gen 2 is definitely worth considering.
