Microsoft are at it again.
A recent update seems to be taking cloud storage a bit too seriously. Microsoft has been caught enabling automatic OneDrive folder backup by default during Windows 11 setup, syncing your Desktop, Pictures, Documents, Music, and Videos to the cloud without explicitly asking your permission.

Why the Backup Boost?
OneDrive offers a convenient way to store and access your files from anywhere. Microsoft likely sees this automatic backup as a helpful feature, ensuring your important documents are safe and readily available.
But Where's the Choice?
Many users prefer to manage their cloud storage themselves. This surprise auto-backup has left some feeling their privacy is being compromised and their local storage filling up unexpectedly.
Taking Back Control:
If you'd rather control what gets uploaded to OneDrive, here's how to disable automatic folder backup:

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the system tray (usually near the clock).
   
2. Click on the Settings icon and then "Settings."
   
3. Navigate to the "Sync and Backup" tab.
   
4. Click "Manage backup."
   
5. Simply uncheck the folders you don't want to be automatically uploaded.
   

For users with the classic OneDrive interface:

1. Go to the "Backup" tab.
   
2. Click "Manage Backup" followed by "Stop backup."
   
3. Confirm you want to stop the backup process.
