So the latest step is to use PET instead of PVC to create an ECO friendly record using injection moulding machines. This is the same tech used to produce CDs, DVDs and Laserdiscs. But in reality (and according to the audiophiles)the sound is arguably worse. If you are in the vinyl camp and of the mindset that vinyl sounds better than CD, then listening to injection moulded vinyl may very well be a kind of torture.
