MyGov Gets Passkey

Everyone’s favourite - MyGov, the gateway to essential government services like Medicare and the ATO, is ditching weak passwords in favour of a more secure login method: passkeys.
What are Passkeys?
Passkeys are the future of secure logins. Unlike traditional passwords, which are vulnerable to hacking and phishing scams, passkeys offer a robust two-factor authentication system. They work like a pair of keys – one stored securely on your device (phone, laptop) and the other kept with MyGov. When you log in, these keys work together to verify your identity, eliminating the risk of unauthorised access.
