Musk Doubles Down on OpenAI Lawsuit

Elon Musk has reignited his legal battle against OpenAI, the AI research company he co-founded, with a new lawsuit that alleges the company strayed from its nonprofit mission. This marks a significant escalation of the feud between Musk and the AI startup.

Musk's initial lawsuit, filed earlier this year, focused on OpenAI's alleged breach of its founding agreement to keep its technology open-source… unlike Musk’s Own xAI - Grok which is Open Source. This case though, was mysteriously dropped without explanation.​

The new lawsuit takes a more aggressive stance, accusing OpenAI of racketeering and seeking to force the company to make its research public. Musk claims he was misled into co-founding OpenAI based on promises of a nonprofit structure dedicated to AI safety.

The lawsuit also alleges that OpenAI's partnership with Microsoft, which has provided billions in funding, undermines the company's original mission. Musk argues that this collaboration violates the terms of the founding agreement and that Microsoft should not have access to OpenAI's technology once it achieves artificial general intelligence (AGI).
