Kinestop is an app designed to alleviate motion sickness, also known as kinetosis, by addressing the sensory conflict that causes it. Motion sickness arises when there's a mismatch between the signals your inner ear (which senses movement) and your eyes (which may perceive stillness) send to your brain. Kinestop works by providing a visual reference that aligns with the motion your inner ear detects. It overlays a subtle, artificial horizon on your device's screen, which moves in sync with the vehicle's motion. This helps to synchronize your visual and vestibular (inner ear) senses, reducing the sensory conflict and thus mitigating the symptoms of motion sickness. Available from the Google Play Store Fear not if you have an iPhone, Apple has introduced a similar feature called Vehicle Motion Cues in their latest iOS 18 update. This feature provides similar functionality to Kinestop by displaying visual cues that help reduce motion sickness.
