The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has chimed in and issued a warning about the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in cyberattacks, particularly those targeting smartphone users.

Cybercriminals are leveraging AI to create highly convincing deepfakes, voice clones, and other deceptive tactics. Scams targeting Gmail users, gambling apps and even banking fraud using sophisticated AI powered tools to bypass biometric protection. OMG! These sophisticated techniques are being used to trick individuals into sharing sensitive information and more often than not, get a hold of your money.

​How to Protect Yourself:
To safeguard yourself from these AI-driven threats, the FBI recommends the following:

• Verify Identities: If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a trusted individual or organization, hang up and verify their identity independently.
• Create a Secret Word or Phrase: Establish a unique code word or phrase with family and friends to use in emergency situations.
• Be Wary of Online Requests: Avoid sharing personal information or financial details with individuals you meet solely online.
• Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on the latest cyber threats and security best practices.
• Update your devices!

By following these guidelines, you can significantly reduce your risk of falling victim to AI-powered cyberattacks.
